A Certified NGC $4 Stella for $10k???

plugged and harshly cleaned. no thanks

Not only plugged and harshly cleaned, but the pug job was done by person with repair skills of monkey. He would have better off if he had used clay. At least you could have removed that and perhaps had the coin repaired properly.

I don’t know what the current market for the Stella (four dollar gold) is, but I know years ago improperly cleaned pieces with the flowing hair, which is the most common type, was around $20k, retail. Given this piece’s multiple problems, I’d say over $10k is all the money and then some. The trouble is a guy who can spend $10k on a coin usually wants something better than this.
