i finally got my new camera!

 

i am trying to test my skills and upload a picture but it wont let me because the files are more than 200kb. i have already cropped as small as i can without losing too much picture....

can anyone offer any suggestions on how to make the pics smaller in "size" without losing the majoriy of pic? just shrink size of jpeg i mean? any help will be great so that i can start sharing with you all

Depending on which image editing program you are using, there should be somewhere that says "resize" on one of the drop menus. If you cant find it, PM me and I will reply with my email address and I will resize the image for you.

If you have Microsoft Office Picture Manager, there is an "Edit Pictures" button on the toolbar that opens another menu. That menu has a feature called "Compress Picture" that gives you several options for file size. A .jpg that starts out at 700kb in uncompressed form becomes about 180kb in "Document" form. There are other options that produce even smaller files (but also less detail).
