Another SMS Set, Or Maybe the Original One posted by Captain Clipon

The SMS coins have always sounded so exclusive to me that I can't stay away from them. This is one of my more successful attempts to date.

The 1965 through 1967 Special Mint Sets, produced in lieu of proof coins for those years, have flown under the radar in my opinion. Actually, I think that ALL SMS coins have been under estimated.

My set is currently in the top 20! That is a major accomplishment for me. The dimes (which are conspicuously missing) seem to present quite a challenge. The more common grades and designations have very low point values. I mean, who wants to dole out $100.00 for a coin that has a point value of, like 9 or something.

Still, there is room to upgrade the Lincolns and Kennedys, which were the first coins for me to pick up. My original goal was to complete a set that was MS67. Of course I can't ever stick to my original intent...

Take a look of you are of a mind.

Hey, I recognize that coin! I have to agree with the OP, the SMS series, especially the 65-67 are greatly undervalued and underappreciated! You have two SMS fans right here with myself and Shatzy!
