Numismatic Reference Literature

2 posts in this topic

If we have any members who in addition to Coins,Medals, Tokens , also collect important Numismatic Literature , I would like to hear from you. Perhaps there is something I have, you may want or perhaps the reverse, and you have something I would like to add to my Library. Thank you.

I have begun collecting numismatic literature during the last 4 years--I have ca. 160 books, 50 auction catalogs, and 30 DVDs. Doing this has completely changed my perspective on the hobby, and I use my collection frequently because I keep it at home (unlike my coins and medals). My literature collecting efforts have also caused my coin collecting interests to change to pre-Civil War coins and tokens (including foreign coins that circulated in the U.S.). Equally important is that fact that my literature collection is keeping me tied to the hobby---I don't experience periods of boredom when I cannot find another coin or medal to buy.

I recently joined the Numismatic Bibliomania Society, and find that I have common interests with a number of NBS members.
