and the US Mint did a horrible job with quality control!

Hello everyone,

I got my returns back from NGC and I am very happy with the results!

3 - 2010 SAEs PF70UC

2 - 2011 US Army $1 PF70UC

2 - 2011 US Army $1 MS70

1 - 2011 US Army 50c PF70UC

1 - 2011 US Army 50c PF69UC

2 - 2011 US Army 50c MS69

The Mint really dropped the ball with the quality of the MS US Army 50c pieces. I took out 2008 Bald Eagle 50c and compared the two. It is like night and day. The Army coins have visible marks all over the place and on both sides. I don't have an idea what the Mint was thinking when they let these coins through. I orderd 7 of them and only sent 2 in to be graded. The other 5 were so bad that I think I would of been lucky to get a 68 for them. It looks like the problem is with all the coins...very few have made the 70 grade. Those 5 pieces of junk went back to the mint and to say I was disappointed is a friggin' understatement!!

I have attached a pic of the proof $1 US Army coin. Since NGC now allows the "Early Release" scam for comms, I wanted a sample for my collection. I also got one for the 50c piece also.

Enjoy and best of luck with the grades.

Jeffrey

You're right, the 2008 Bald Eagle Chicks half dollar was quite a beautiful piece. Arguably the best of all the modern half dollars.
