3 posts in this topic

Hi guys, i an a comic book guy 95% of the time and today i found a 1861 Half penny, under strong magnification i can see the "F" in half has been struck over a "P". my research has led me to believe that this was an error on this coin and it's rare. anyways if it's possible from my photos could i get a grade please and perhaps a guestimate of what i would expect to get if i sold it on ebay or somewhere? thanks Picture036.jpgPicture035.jpg

This variety is the 1861 F/P and is a well documented error.

There are also the 1861 "4 berries" and "5 berries" as well as the 1861/1881 and the 1861 LCW.

Your coin looks FINE or perhaps VF and is worth about $5 -->$10.

I see what looks like verdigris developing to the left of "OR" in Victoria and you should consider removing it before it ruins the coin.
