Didn't they mint these with a hammer? I have no idea how to grade this but it's neat.

each year - or every time they switched the Assayer , the die would change, until they started dating them around 1607..

and yes .. a big Hammer

I would grade it "old"

For me, there are three main grades for these: Good, Fine, and Very Fine.

 

I'd guess "Fine".

I'd grade it VF.

 

It might be higher, but I'd have see it in person for that. These things are crude, and one needs to look for mint luster (or the lack of it) to come up with a technical grade.
