1788 Vermont?

2 posts in this topic

In the redbook they have 3 Vareties listed....

1788 (Several Var.)

1788 Backwards C in AUCTORI

1788 *ET LIB* INDE

My Question is what is the differnce from the 1788 and the one with * ET LIB* INDE? Does the other one not have ET LIB INDE at all? Or what is the main differnce between the 2?

The legend is transposed. The relative positions of INDE and ET LIB and wrong with respect to the seated figure. It would be like a USA coin that read UNUM E PLURIBUS.
