I'm having a lot of difficulties too about this.

But I am sure tha someone out there knows what is this..

 

PORTUGUESA is written for sure on it, and I think it is 1627. The 2nd number is either6, 0 or 8.

i can only go back to 1701 :( but as i look here in that book , i now need some of these designs. they are wonderful. like the 4 escudos. wow.

What is it the size of when comparing to an American coin?

 

What metal does it look like it's made from?

 

When you look at the edge of the coin, do you see a line down the center?

The blue side of the coin is flat on one side. Don't see that on the other side. Line down edge of coin----good idea to look at that. Looks like put together from 2 different coins.

It has about 2,5 centimetres as diameter, it looks silver and yes, it has a line down the center on the edge.

 

Any ideea?
