Both coins not in the best condition .. but not all of us can afford VF stuff .. but still nice to fill the gap in your dansco isn't it

 

any information about them would be nice

The first coin I BELIEVE is a Sheldon 166 and the crack that you pointed out is why I picked this variety. It has a Rarity of 5+ (at least at time of writing the book in 1958).

 

The second coin, I have tried and failed...came up with too many possibilities based on the small amout of detail left. I'm hoping someone else can pick up the ball on this one.

Thanks for that .. i will scan them when i recive them and see if i can bring any of the detals out better ? the 166 how dose the scale run 1 rarest 5 common ?

Sorry, Dooly. I should have incldued that in my post, Here's the scale:

R-1 common

R-2 not so common

R-3 Scarce

R-4 very scarce (between 76-200 known)

R-5 Rare (31-75 known)

R-6 Very Rare (13-30 known)

R-7 Extremely rare (4-12 Known)

R-8 Unique or nearly unique, (1,2,3 known)

 

Remember that this was back in 1958 and I imagine that things have changed

since then.
