I have found a Scottish Gold Hammered coin

1 post in this topic

Hi all .. i have been over to a wedding in cumbria and managed a couple of hours and had a really lucky day .. I found this only 3" down on an old paddock

It is a James VI Thistle Crown (48 Scottish Shilling) 9th Coinage 1604-1609 (400years this year !!) and is 1.9g

The questions i would like to ask are, What grade would you give it ? also has anyone got some past auction prices for equivalent coins ?

cheers and enjoy the pictures
