Nice Error or Poor Strike ??

3 posts in this topic

Hi,

I just found a nice BU Lincoln cent in an original bank roll of 1965 cents

The coin has nice mint luster and is fully struck both Obv. & Rev. except for the face of Lincoln. The face is flat and has very little detail.

Is this a certifiable error coin or just a poor strike?

thanks,

Bob

My vote would be poor strike. I don’t think most collectors are get very excited about that type of weakness. It does not appear that the coin was struck through grease or some other foreign material.

Does the reverse look the same way?
