how many war nickels = 1oz silver?

If you had 18 War Nickels, you would have about $17.06 worth of silver based on the $16.85 as I type this. The total melt value of all metals would be $17.50.

 

Please note that while it is illegal to melt nickels, War Nickels are not included in that ban. However, I had heard many smelters will not accept War Nickels to avoid any problems.
