Yeah, color definitely is off on that one, on both sides. Looks like it might be porous as well, in addition to the numerous rim nicks. Good thing you didn't buy that one.

(thumbs u yep its a lot of £'s for it but the "extra" metal in front of her face made it an interesting looking coin.. (shrug)

Neat late die state. It is a S-239 in a late State V. This is probably the terminal state. It appears to have the "retained cud" between the two cracks on the obverse that Breen said might exist but which he hadn't seen. (The piece between the two cracks is being driven down into the die like a wedge creating a raised area on the field of the coin between the two cracks.)
