Has NGC verified that in fact the packaging was not messed with? I'd say if they have not, it's a great error on their part to slab this coin with any kind of pedigree.

 

Some Joe Blow may have switched the coins, and then resealed the packaging.

I think you are going a bit overboard calling this a new type.

 

WOW!!! The Sacagawea series never ceases to amaze. Over eight years after their release, a whole new type is discovered.

 

Even the prototype isn't a different type.

Conder101 you're absolutely right. In fact, I remember thinking about that sentence briefly when I was proof reading the page. Obviously I didn't think about it long enough but you've made me revisit it. I have changed it to "Over eight years after their release, a completely new discovery is made."

 

Better?
