Strange night at the local coin club last night.

I already mentioned that my first car was a '74 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a 350; 4-barrel carb.

Then I got a new 1983 Ford Escort. What a pig!

Then, while in the Navy, I bought a new 1987 Honda Accord. That was a great car that I had for 10 years. Then I totaled it chasing a hit and run driver. Bummer... :sorry:

Then I got a 1989 Chevy Cheyenne truck until I traded it in on a new 1998 Honda Accord. Then, when I totaled it on black ice in Eastern Oregon on Christmas Eve 2003, I bought my current vehicle, a 2004 Ford F150 with an extended cab for Caleb to cruise at ease. I now have but 11 more payments and hopefully I won't need another vehicle for a long time yet. :wishluck:

It was a GM car. I have never purchased another GM automobile.

Why punish GM because of a bad local salesman? If I tried to rip you off on a silver eagle would that cause you to swear off buying US mint products?

BINGO! I AGREE WITH YOU!! :applause:

~Wandering yet further OT~

My first car was a 1951 Chevy

215 cu inch in-line 6, developing a staggering 92 hp

3 Speed Synchromesh Trans with 4 May-Pop tires (they may pop at any moment)

On the way back from a 18 or over 3.2 Bar, the #4 piston connector

went right through the engine wall…drove it another 15 miles on 5 cylinders to home, called the junk yard that next week and they came and hauled it off for $25

Learning must have been difficult for me back then, cuz I went right out and bought another used 1959 Chevy…I got about 50 miles to each quart of motor oil.

2:1 ratio (2 gal gas-1 qt re-refined oil) sorta like a modern day 2 cycle engine.

“Seals….we don’t need no stinking seals!”

To bring this back into context...while some of my early car buying experiences where going on, our silver coins were being converted into clad coinage...Oh the horror!
