How stable is the color on Battlecreek Morgan Dollars?

Of course "Battle Creek" is not a "pedigree" in the traditional sense, as we don't konw the actual provenance with any certainty. However, for those of us who do in fact believe that the coins are legitimate, naturally toned works of art, the "Battle Creek" attribution does have a value, in that it identifies the coin(s) as having come from a notable group that included many spectacular toners.

Thus, while not the same as an Eliasberg, Garrett, Amon Carter, or similar pedigree of a great collection, it is nonetheless comparable to other hoard pedigrees such as Continental Illinois, Binion,or Redfield. Again, this supposes that one accepts the story that the coins came from one group of nine original bags, a story which I have no reason to doubt.
