Does anyone know if the new Redbook for Lincoln Cents that is coming out in the next couple of weeks will cover matte proofs or not. I would like to learn more about them. Any good books that cover the matte proof series of coins that you know of would also help.

Pick up a copy of Counterfeit Detection-A Reprint From The Numismatist Volume II and you will find all the information you would likely want as to known diagnostics and images. This 106-page book was published in 1988 and contains 12-pages of information on this niche. It had long been available through Stack's for about $10, but after their merger with ANR they may have stopped selling it. Currently, you will likely find it on ebay every few weeks.
