Coin shops in Vegas

16 posts in this topic

I am heading to Vegas in a couple of weeks and wanted to know if there were any coin shops in any of the casino's or close to the strip?

Thanks

Frank's Coins in the Riviera. Go past Hotel Registration and turn right as if you were going to Kady's Restaurant. It will be set back on the right.

Frank is the buyer, and his brother, Patrick, runs the store. He's always been fair. If you get a chance to go, be sure to tell him that I said "Hi!". If he's not sure who you're referring to, tell him I'm the guy from Florida who buys all the Morgans.

Why does everyone buy coins when they go to Vegas? Or is that the only place people go on vacation around here?

I've been going every year since 1995 for the pool tournaments at the Riviera, but that doesn't mean I haven't been elsewhere. The only states I haven't visited are Maine, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Alaska (offshore fishing doesn't count) and Hawaii.

I buy coins from Patrick because he ALWAYS gives me good deals. Even when I offer him less than his listed prices, he'll cut my offer even further. I can't afford to pass up deals like that.

It's about the only place that I go. I don't like beaches as I don't like the sand and I burn easy. I do like to fish. Got any recommendations?

Nevada Coin Mart was a fixture for decades in Vegas until it closed in the mid nineties. :( I've never been to the above mentioned shop.

Sahara always has lots of nice coins and the folks there have treated me friendly in the past. Don't try walking there from the strip.

Frank's Coins is a fun place. The last time I was there they didn't have a lot of room to display but once the guy knew what I was interested in he pulled some other coins out that were not on display. Nice folks as well.

Sahara is on the corner of Decatur Blvd & Sahara Ave about 5 minutes from the Strip.

Thanks! I'll be sure to check it out on my next trip.

I flew back and forth from Boston to Vegas every week for nearly two years while building casino expansions on the strip and never managed to find a coin shop. The inside of the White Rhino to drop some coin yes, a coin shop no. You guys are good.
