Please help with a grade for this 1834 Sm date Small letters CBH. Thanks.

It is very nice. I will say AU-55 because it looks like it has some wear in the curls.

I would say AU53 or AU55.

 

It also looks like it may have some PVC contamination that has turned from the typical green to black with age. Perhaps the coins needs a quick acetone bath?

I would say XF45-AU50 ish. Depends on luster, but it seems as if NGC has been downgrading mushy strikes severely these days.

My first thought was XF...I think the coin would need a LOT more luster than is apparent in the pic to make AU.

I'm undecided between VF 35 and XF 40. The reverse seems to have a great deal more luster than the obverse for some reason...Mike

Based on the image I’ll say XF45 obv, XF40 rev = XF40
