Question: why are RB cents of this date so hard to find ?

Dave bowers had a good article in coin world a couple of weeks ago (he usually does) about red cents. He said that red cents were usually less well struck, and that the brown cents were the best struck. It had something to do with the softness of the planchets, which affected both strike and toning. Just FYI.

Certified RB cents are difficult to locate from this era because folks typically send in RD examples.
