American Coot (Mud hen)

Can be found in most marshes, ponds and lakes and are aquatic vegetation feeders. Migrates south in the winter as does the Old American Coot. A shy creature that will swim away when approached, usually seen in flocks but can be solitary.

Old American Coot (Crazy Wino Bob)

Dwells behind the local Phil-A-Sac, hidden in the oleander bushes by day, concrete curbs and light poles by night. Not shy at all in nature, when approached, the subject usually stretches out a hand while hanging on with the other. Will always accept donations for the next life sustaining container of 20/20. Can be seen in small pockets or groups in under passes, but is also solitary.
