When a NGC coin is submitted to NCG Grading for Variety Attribution (without regrading), it is returned with the same certification number and with the label now showing the die variety as well.  Assuming that the coin was already in one or more Competitive Sets as a non-attributed coin, what is its new status in the collection?  Will it be:

1. Now listed in the Inventory and in any slot it occupies with its Variety Attribution without any further action being necessary?

2. Added automatically to slots requiring coins with variety attribution where:

    a.  The coin in question was already occupying a slot in a Competitive Set that did not require variety attribution? (see Capped Half Dimes, All Varieties slots for 1835, 1836, 1837)

    b.  The coin in question preiviously did not qualify for a slot in a Competitive Set, but now does?

3.  Or is it necessary to remove it and then resubmit as a new addition? (Like PCGS certified coins where the certifidation number is changed as well as the variety attribution is added)

In this set, there are 3 instances of a Date slot and slots for Major Varieties: 1835, 1836, and 1837.  Only a coin without any variety attribution matches these slots.  To achieve 100% completion for the set, does one have to have a non-attributed coin in addition to each of the appropriate major variety attributed coins?

What is the meaning/intent of having Sets greyed-out when adding a coin?  Can the coin be added to all the sets, just one, none?

A possibly linked question is why all coins that match a slot description do not appear in the Add selections?
