I picked up this rare PCGS XF40 19-Z Raised Rims Fugio for a STEAL off of Teletrade last weekend. Interestingly, as numismatic interests ebb and flow, I used to own this exact same coin and had originally paid more than twice the price that I paid for it this time. Who knew there would be Black Friday deals on old copper this year???
:-)

Some crusty convex rays copper recently encased in plastic ...

I actually have three of the Restrikes now ... one in Silver, one in Brass, and one in RB Copper. Somebody sell me their GOLD so I can complete the set!!!

That's the sharpest fugio I've seen. Is there a grade on that? Either way, very nice (thumbs u
PCGS AU55. I got outbid on the MS62 @ the B&M auction ... that I happened to have sold to the owners of the Julianna Rose collection a couple of years ago. This one I just picked up on ebay ...
BTW - it is only a New Haven Restrike ...

Wow,
Is that a new acquisition? Either way it does not matter that is one beautiful Fugio my friend.

Thanks, it is on its way to me now. It is a straggler from the Juliana Rose Collection that sold @ B&M last month

Fletcher, two for the price of one can't be bad, right?
... I didn't think of that. In that case, I got it for half off

Double-take ...

Wow Boiler ... you're like a reincarnation of Norweb! I just picked up this PCGS MS63RB beauty from Brandon Kelley :-)

Nice looking New Haven Fugio Fletcher. Looks unc? (thumbs u
Thanks BOILER ... I wanted one of these for a LONG time and I bought it only as a backup in case I got outbid on the Norweb example the next day. I ended up getting stuck in traffic and missed the Norweb auction altogether. However, I think that I got a pretty good deal on this one and John from CRO liked it better than the Norweb example. Accordingly, I think that everything worked out for the best :-)

Any idea how many of the 1804 quarters are believed to still exist?
My guess would be around 600. However, I have been having a heckuva time finding one that doesn't look like it was worked over by an SOS pad. Even this one isn't as crusty as I like them, but it is the nicest collector grade 1804 that I have seen hit the market in a while ...

Fletcher, when you said "copper" in your 20 cent piece post, did you mean as in J-1412?!
Yes Bob ... nice catch

Elbesaar ... where are you finding all of those amazing Barbers?

A magic date ...

Fletcher,
Its already been said before - but - WOW what a coin !!
Looks like you've given up on those cheap little Barber Dimes...
Thanks I miss those little guys. Right now, I am attempting to put together a complete Quarter type set. Usually, I start at the low end and repeatedly upgrade so that I can learn the nuances of the series and make my mistakes in the shallow end of the pool. However, I just loved this '96 Quarter and it had a CAC sticker ... and regardless of what the naysayer profess, every CAC stickered coin that I have purchased thus far has been stellar. So I jumped on it and have absolutely no buyers remorse. More to come ...

A nice original two bits (25c) I picked up from Dave Albanese ...

Looks more like a scan which would explain why the images are so flat and dull. Other than that, what's not to like? Looks like a keeper to me. In fact, I'd be proud to be the owner of that one. (thumbs u
Don't get me wrong ... I love it:) I have a feeling that it will look much better in hand. However, from the picture it looks like there is quite a bit of rub for a 58. I hope that you are right and that the scan is why it looks so flat. We'll see

No, you were right ... I did sell them all off. But then I was able to pick this one up @ 60% off last weekend and have now decided to do a colonial type set like MidlifeCrisis for fun. I guess you could say I enjoy the hunt more than the hoarding
