  1. For some time I have been building a Kennedy silver proof set. I had managed to be in the top 10. Then suddenly I noticed a serious slip. I didn't do any analysis until recently. The 1964 coins can be tough, but the problem is that allowing PCGS coins permits folks to add 1976 PF 70 dcam coins. There only THREE NGC coins grades PF 70 ucam. It seems virtually all the top pointed sets have the pcgs coin. In order to have a top set, you must add a PCGS coin. 

    I have long felt that NGC was more critical when it came to proof coins. Just as I think PCGS is more critical of luster on mint state coins.  Maybe it is a misplaced opinion. But given the disparity between the two systems on this single coin, there has to be some difference. 

    It would be nice if NGC would create an identical competitive set that only allowed NGC coins. Then we don't have to go out and get one odd coin to compete.
