Beautiful washies guys!
-
Who would have ever though that Lou would have posted the most popular thread on the coin boards.
-
Just got this 1794 Large Cent today.
It looks great in Poor. [is that an oxymoron?]
That looks oddly familar.
-
I'm thinking I should just put that phrase on a continuous loop for this thread, what do others think?
I think it would be easier to just ban BOILER78 from this thread.
-
Haydn, you're a cookie monster.

That's a nice one Hayden. I don't have any $2.50 dollar gold coins. I might have to look into it
Thanks,I just got that one back from NGC,bought it raw.

Please don't turn this thread into a coincrib.
To get this back on track:
-
Haha!
I think that there was a bit of photoshopping in that image
-
I suppose if you muled the obverse from this coin
with the reverse from this coin
You would be right Hayden.
Come on Mark, the head looks similar.

I just picked this one up. I am thinking about adding it to the pattern type set. This has always been among my favorite pattern designs a true pattern and a design/metal combination that Longacre lobbied strongly for.
Funky looking pattern,a 3c and a shield nickel in one

Nice half dime! Do you have an obverse image?
ditto

Gorgeous coins guys,Tom,I'm drooling over your latest addition of crust

Sweet stuff Lee

I understand what you're saying, who did this big promotion?

Thanks Tom,I've been working on a set in F-VF. I have about 33 dates right now,a few of the semi-keys but none of the keys. Right now I'm on the lookout for an 1844,but I know that's tough in any grade .

Here's an upgrade for my seated dime set:
I can't wait to crack this one out

leeg you have to stop posting those deliciously blazing coins...post something more bland...like this
crust

Ok, to get this thread back on track, just arrived today:
bust!
-
It's the toning my friend.
My personal collection consists of mostly bust and seated coins--I'm an early type kind of guy.

Hey,white morgans can be original...pretty darn ugly but still original...
Hayden, That seems to be the normal way for the younger generation to think. And that is one of the reasons we are starting to see so many people doctor coins to mimic toning. While I agree that some colorful coins are extremely attractive I also enjoy a fresh from the mint look so as to be able to see the detail more. That doesn’t mean I will dip my coins to brighten them. I have never done that. And if I did I certainly wouldn’t parade it around to show it off.
Just my opinion!
I think you misread my post,Spider.I was not putting down "white" coins,I just don't care for the morgan dollar design.
