Thanks for the warm welcome! Robec's colorful proofs are without a doubt a huge inspiration. I began collecting as a kid pulling pennies from circulation, and later trying to build a 1959 to date set. After spending many years away from coins, I've come back to that same set, but with an emphasis on colorful gems I pluck from rolls and submit. The proofs I have were all impulse buys, but maybe someday I will pursue those in earnest.
