    It's about time!
I've been around here for over a year and finally decided to write a journal. I've been collecting coins since high school. For the past 2 years I have concentrated on graded coins. Like most others, I like ASE's, but also like modern commems. I have limited disposable income, so I never pay full price for anything. Case in point: my first PF70 snag. 2011 Army 50c. $30 at local coin show.
I hope to add more coin pics next week while on vacation.
    Thanks for stopping by!

and an MS70 New Year to all!
Please don't take offense to the title: I consider myself an equal opportunity offender.
But seriously, I really hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday and wish nothing but high grades and low bid wins in the coming year...

Procrastination can rule for only so long
I finally added pics to all of my sets. I settled on macro mode, natural daylight and no flash. Will still play with settings to see if anything else helps the quality. I'd like to thank NGC for allowing > 200kb pics! Much easier not having to crop & resize.
    Happy collecting, all!

"best of the best" in terms of popularity, scarcity and affordability?
It may just be my jealousy speaking, but when have $500+ coins become known as "affordable"? I got NGC's email today about the new Top 50 label, so I decided to start my set. I own only 1 coin from the set (lowest valued 1 at that) and do not foresee owning any of the others.
I'd like to see a "poor man's top 50" set that has truly affordable common modern coins. No need to offer annual awards for them, just a fun set that many of us could actually complete 100%.
Thanks for listening! Enjoy your coins! Share the joy with the ones you love!

    To crack out or not?
    Hello all!
I've been contemplating upgrading my NGC membership, but am not sure if I should crack some Franklins out of their ICG MS65 holders... Years I have are 1959, 1958D, 1959, 1959D, 1960, 1960D, 1961 & 1962. I paid no more than $25 for each of them. Below is the 1960D that would be worth the most. Do you think this one would still grade MS65 w/ NGC?
    Any thoughts would be appreciated!
    Happy collecting!
