1877-S Trade Dollar (PCGS XF40). I bought this raw coin off eBay last month and got the grade back last week. I've been looking for an attractive, colorful, and cheap Trade Dollar for about 3 years (for my colorfully toned U.S. Type Set) and finally found one that I like. Some very light hairlines on the upper left obverse, but not harsh enough to prevent a problem free grade.

Six consecutive years of Lincoln Proofs ...

WL; out of the three I like that 2004 the best. Unbelievably beautiful proofs.
I agree with you! However before you dismiss that 1972-s ... Here is another shot of that one which I took in the Safe-Flip, just before submitting to PCGS. I snapped this with my iPhone in indirect sunlight ... talk about a liquid proof.

Very nice moderns WL I really like the look of the 04 Jim
The 2004 is something else! Almost ghostly. And the color transitions are smooth as silk.
The 2007 is unusual/rare due to visible elevation chromatics in Lincolns hair. Almost impossible to find on modern proof lincolns. Those speckles around the rims do knock down the visual appeal a bit though
The 1972 is a stunning eye-popper, especially for that era.

These are about as beautiful as you'll ever find Colorful S-Mint Proof Copper ...

I can't remember if I ever posted this before in this thread? It's the highest graded PCGS Brown (BN) Proof Lincoln Cent known. PR68BN !! I think that currently there is only one other PCGS PR68BN Lincoln Cent known, and I think that's a 1988-S (never seen a photo of it). I bet that NGC has a lot more PF68BN Lincolns floating around, but PCGS seems to be a bit stricter on proof copper than NGC, so from what I've seen these NGC PF68BN's seem to cross to PCGS PR67BN.

Thanks Coindude!
Yes, I got lucky on that 1916 MPL ... for $1850 + 15% bp ... about 60% of guide price.
Just one hole left in my set, never to be filled I'm sure.
Note that all photos are resized PCGS TrueView photos.

I dont understand the 62 grade on that lustrous beauty ... I think it should be a 64 at least.

With grades and buy prices under each coin ...

Quite the road trip for this coin ...
First NGC AU53 (where I paid $675 for it)
Then PCGS Genuine Planchet Flaw
Finally PCGS AU55 (where guide price is now $675, so no toning premium paid after dust settled)

1961 is the definitive year for monster toning in Lincoln Proofs (for some unknown reason)
