-
Picked this up recently
-
Just purchased and she has no plastic clothes (yet)
-
Picked this up at the last Baltimore show - just got it back from NGC
WELL !!!!! how did it do ??
MS65* - but the number is not that important (it's the color that's important)

That has the coloring of when you see a drop of gasoline in water. Very cool.
That's exactly correct - Oil (or gasoline) on water is the example of the phenomenom called "thin film interference" which cause the rainbow colors you see in oil on water - same thing causes us to see colors on metal that has a thin film on the surface of the coin - I wrote an article on that and use it to explain toning in my toned coin exhibits.

A little Copper Eye Candy
-
Numismatist - Very colorful Commen. What service did the grading?
Nice coins all
NGC walk through at FUN - grade was MS66* - It was sold a few days later and the buyer is now using it as his avatar across the street.

Bought this Raw at the Nov Mich State Show - Graded at FUN - sold the next week. Very nice for a BTW

This is a new coin that just arrived today. My jaw dropped open and I fell in love with this half immediately!
It is a business strike half with a mintage of but 4,800 and is graded MS64 by PCGS. There is no doubt that it is high end for a 64 and would easily transition to a 65. The fields are fully prooflike and the devices are all cameo'd.
The pics accurately show the color but it doesn't come near to showing the coin's true nature. For all intense purposes, discounting semantics, this is a proof cameo, 19th century proof coin.
Awesome coin - It says MS and you say "a proof cameo, 19th century proof coin". Is it Proof or MS?

Ron those are killer coins! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the nice comments - those 2 coins reside in a NGC double holder with the toned sides "Up" - I've done several displays at coins shows and I usually put that pair in the center of the display case - The 81-S Moose is right above them, so I need a reverse toned Morgan that matches this one so I can balance my display!
I think I'll have these coins with me at Central States in May if anyone wants to stop by and see them in hand
-
Those is "them"
-
A nicely matched pair of Toned Morgans!
-
The 55 DDO is a true smoker, Larry!
I may have already shown this coin in this thread, if so, I apologize-
Your 1912 MPL is even nicer!

Ron,
Congrats on getting the crossover!!! That coins deserves better plastic.
Well, that honey probably looks just as good in Capital Plastic - maybe even better sans plastic - In my mind the plastic just keeps her clean and mark free
Here's another recent acquisition

That 1881 is one beautiful Morgan, unbelievable. I wish I had seen her in Baltimore last week.
Here are my latest two additions to my official catalogue of coins. Nowhere near the beauty of the last coin.
I am thinking perhaps MS-62 or 63 on each of these. Thoughts anyone?
Rey (rbrown4)
I'd grade that Morgan MS63 - too much chatter in the fileds in front of the face and too many scuffs on the face for a MS64 - but it is nicer than a MS62.
I think I'll have "THE Moose" with me in St. Louis - I'll be at Greg Allen's table (Greg Allen Coins - There will be several viscious attack dogs nearby to make sure "THE Moose" stays safely in it's pen) )
-
I've never posted to this thread - and this is not exactly a "recent" acquisition - but she is recently dressed in "new clothes" - picked her up in Baltimore on March 24th. A gorgeous lady
