jpolz......so what is the grade.....we know it is in a NGC holder!!
Its in an NCS holder.
Its a dang beautiful coin. (thumbs u
What? Do you know why?
Yes it is in an NCS holder. VF Details. Scratched.
I liked the look of the coin initially and looked as closely as pics would allow and couldn't see any scratches that concerned me. Then I did that again 3 more times before deciding that whatever NCS saw either didn't bother me or was hidden by the photos and it was time to pull the pin and bid. I'm very happy with the price I paid, and seeing the coin in-hand it looks exactly like those pics.
I haven't put it under a UV light yet. When I do that, maybe I'll see something else. Maybe I won't do that -- you know how it is, once you know a problem is there your eyes get drawn to it? At least, not for a while. For now I'm going to just enjoy it.
Thanks for the replies!

I got this in recently:
-
This is one of the best looking Morgan's I've ever seen. I'm not a big fan of the shiny Morgans but the patina on this is really attractive.
And that's a beautiful seated half gpnyc!

Wow those are some beautiful IHC's Boss.
And Elbesaar that must be a great Barber 25C 'cause I'm not a big fan of the Barber series and I think that one's a real looker
Speaking of series I'm not a big fan of: the Lincon cents. No offense to those who collect them, they just don't do anything for me. Even the 09-S VDB I can't summon a lot of enthusiasm for. I thought I was destined to never complete a type set because of this.
Problem solved! I just got this silver Lincoln 1C today:
Actually I like the 43 steelies pretty well, but that's a silver cent. And it's from the year my parents got married (I like to pick up coins from family members' birth years or other significant dates). C'mon how could I pass that up?
It is TPG certified. I wouldn't get something like this raw:
-
Yes - PCGS AU58.
Is it silly to have a "favorite grade"? 'Cause I think AU58 is mine. Tons of eye appeal, fraction of the MS cost.

Here's my newest - I'm still practicing taking pics so pls forgive that it isn't as good as many others here:
I'm very pleased. The color is very even and the surfaces are very clean.
I want one more Indian Cent. Either a 1908-S or a 1909-S. I haven't decided which. It will probably go to whichever I see first that has a lot of eye-appeal. Maybe something with light, attractive toning.

Been a while since I posted anything, 'course it's been a while since I bought anything. Come to think of it, I still haven't bought anything ... I got this from Teletrade using my Gold Rewards points. I've heard a lot of bad things about the free coins you get from them using GR and while this one isn't the nicest 64, I wouldn't try sending it to CAC, but it's really not a bad coin. What do you think?
To be fair these pics are hiding a couple of minor flaws on the field. Still, I wasn't expecting something this nice -- or am I looking at this with rose colored glasses?
