Only one set per family first week for TJ we will see
It seems as the mint has been questioned by more than just I on their selling polices. MW and AA . If 5 sets was the limit than how did 567 MW end ed up on a popular TV shopping channel, the grade was not important to me. but to get 567 how many sets were processed?, 2000 maybe and they were ready to sell with in 2 weeks of release, 40,000 all options is a fair release for this type coin as i see it. In order hold its value over time. The last time time i checked the mint is to support commerce and collectors in that order period. Took 31 minutes to process my order by high speed internet the last shipment arrived that completed MW and AA about two weeks ago. At least i got mine ... many collectors did not BUT should have.....

    World coins verus US Coins.
I can not for speak for world coins in general but i can to some degree speak about Canadian coins. To be fair to NGC they are working on some of my requests. There are many types listed but many more are not and even with in the types many are missing, many are not up todate. To me the Candians produce the most types and styles of any country PLUS some of the most BEAUTIFUL coins ever produced. The minting process is improving each year. Jason I can only suggest that you keep pushing NGC/CS they are improving Its taken 6 months but i have been able to have a few new coins added and some upddates/corrections to current sets. I'm baised to Canadian coins because I do not think it takes an act of their parliment to get coins/notes added or changes made. The Canadian dealers i have worked with have all been prompt and very helpful in by effort to build many of their sets. As to ebay it only takes one bad apple to ruin a bushel and ebay has many bad apples. I would give up coin collecting if that was my only source for raw and or graded coins. Iam not Canadian and this is my two cents. Happy collecting in what ever is your hobby....

    American Arts Commemorative Series
They are by definition 1 Troy Oz bullion coins and most bullion houses sell them, Curent bullion price is about US$935. NGC will list them if some asks, I just hav'nt found enough of them in prestine shape worth grading. Happy hunting.

    Can anyone really tell?
NGC is no different than any other 3rd party Much of the grade is subjective not objective I think the real cut off between the 2 is probally a 65. If anyone can give purely objective grade above 65 I would love to hear it . This is the offical definition given by NGC its not the same as PCGS or ANACS NOR that of ANA.
"What is a 70? NGC defines a Mint State or Proof 70 coin as having no post-production imperfections at 5x magnifications." I have come to accept what I get.

I have reached it. At least a realistic one.
My realistic goal when it comes to Coins was/is to be in top 500 over all and top 10 in World Coins. Now that I have worked for 47 Years 20 US Army and 27 At NASA , I Finally gave it up last January. This why I say REALISTIC GOALS. Over all I' Am 402 and World I'Am at 10th. Any increases from here will be a bonus. Have a great weekend and I wish everyone happy collecting.

What NGC gives it takes away!!!!!!!
I guess I was going up points ladder to quick for some one , so was knocked down a few slots. NGC did not even have the time to notify be that the points was going be down rated or why or ask me what I thought about the down grade. it was not debated at all that I can find in the forums. I did not set the points for for any registry slots, NGC did. Cost me 15 spots over all and 2 from the world coins. Iam not saying the coins were not over pointed ,but so are many other coins that are as well, and many are under pointed as well. They have time to screw with points. BUT not the the time to grade/finalize/image/ship coins on time such as the invoice for nine gold coins on 5 day turn around time, today is the 13th workday by their system and well over half of that has been in QC. not the first time either, its for gold though. To say I am upset is a understatement. Coin collecting is a passion but should be fun as well. Its time for me step back and evaluate this gig.

    Long Term ,versus Short Term.
There maybe some montary advantage to theses short term but history shows little to no advantage longe term.In 2007 a collector in FL suited both PCGS and NGC for the usage of the term First Stike infering the had a higher value PCGS settled very quickly but value is not known but NGC elected to go to court but NOT a good idea before trial they settled for about 650,000 most of the money going to the ANA and the trail law firm, with the agreement not to use the term "First Strike Again" PCGS Stil uses it but at their on peril.
Information from the US Mint is very clear they can not give nor do they keep data on "First Stikes" Typically more than 50% of a given series and or date are minted at or about the same time with unknown times that dies are changed/cleaned.
The US Mint does produced and certify "First day of Mintages" for the US Quarter and Presidental programs. which come with the mint envelope stating such with the release date and where released and canceled stamp. Of The Professional Dealers I know neither pays or sells at premium for First Stikes or early releases.
The only profit I see here goess to PCGS and NGC for added submissions. Long term I see no fundamental reason for the rise in price of a First Stike/Early Release of any same grade coin. At least not if its my money.
I Hope each and everyone had a great but safe Thanksgiving, I known of nothing better than time spent with children, grand children, family and good friends. even the time spend with my coins takes a distance second . Take care all.

    Mint verus graded.
Was remembering the discussions about Early Release and First Strike Gold coins.
As I was making my rounds in search of coins I saw this ad MS70 Early release American Buffalo NGC price $1399 free shipping. Mint price $1460 plus cost of grading and shipping and no assured MS70. Have a good one everyone, I am still eating left overs.........
