Bob, that is an absolutely stunning Half!!
Here is my most recent acquisition. It's not a rare coin, or even a particularly high graded example, but it's a beauty nonetheless. This will take a spot in my US Type Set, Including Moderns. There appears to be a die crack prominent through star #3 and running along the left side through a couple other stars. The stars are all sharp except numbers 11, 12, and 13. Overall nice luster, with just a hint of patina/toning on the obverse.
I thought that coin looked familiar, I got th e-mail to release it from my registry set, I will do that once I get home as it will not let me do it from my phone. I am glad to see that it went to a good home

Nice V-nickel sample Alan! I had one once about 15 years ago but I think I sold it 6 or 7 years ago, or at least I can't find it anymore, so I'll just assume I sold it!
Alan didn't post that one. At least not yet

I stopped by a local shop today and these two slabs piqued my interest.
A lowball 1893 Columbian in a rare early PCGS 2.0 holder. I paid less then melt for this one!
And this PCGS sample slab with a worn out 1911 Liberty nickel in it.

And I picked this one off of E-bay from the Hoot man.
NCS AU details scratched obverse. In hand the obverse scratches are almost unnoticeable. A very nice looking piece.

Thanks Rey, As soon as I saw that big English medal I just had to have it! Not my typical area of collecting but I feel that I will definatly be expanding into it a bit more. There is just something cool about something so beautiful with a mintage of only 400 and it actually be affordable!

...........this coin was from "The Martin L. Diffenbaucher, Jr. Collection" Any significance?
The last name reminds me of the plant..........dieffenbachia............I won't mention its common name.
Chris
Dumb cane? Dieffenbachia was named after a German man named Ernst Dieffenbach.

Just to satisfy my curiosity. How does someone in New Zeland get into collecting rare and expencive U.S. coinage?
