Last month, but one I have been searching for. I bought and returned an XF with a slight bend (the seller resubmitted it and it still stayed slabbed) but it just wasn't the ....right... one.
This one was.
PCGS 53 CAC
Yes it DOES have a rim nick.
-
I have some catching up to do.
heh
-
I've been away from the board for a while.
-
It appears that James has fallen on hard times.
How do ya figure?
Hard times tokens.

-
Pretty Barber halves. That's gonna make one neat lookin album.
-
And a Lincoln/Illinois.
NGC 65
-
Duplicates. PCGS is a bit brighter than the NGC but I'd guess same roll.
Both 66's
-
Proof Seated halves are for SISSIES !!
-
It came today. I....almost posted prior to receipt but figgered that wud jinx it somehow.
-
I frikkin WOKE UP thinkin of that damn half disme.
That thing eclipses the more expensive 1913 nickel and 1804 dollar by MAGNITUDES!
I guess I'd consider it CHEAP! Especially after seeing it.
Rather than being steeped in controversy, it is steeped in HISTORY!
Man, it is neat.
-
BUT.... what's the chain of provenance on that beauty?
That must have been in some NOTABLE collections.
Stunning.
-
Oh what's so special about a 1792 Half Disme? No hole for it in a Dansco and it's possible that Martha ATE off of it!
-
Any cal gold with a BEAR on it is a worthless token.
Every coin shop sees these by the trillions. (almost)
A real one
(note that Deriberpe put "DERI" on this one)
-
Does anyone know what the "D" means on the Obverse?
Deriberpe. The French jeweler who engraved the die.
-
Well see, Tom, what they dint tellya is that them old pine tree things was from Massachusetts where they had WITCHES! And, well, that coin looks CURSED to me. If I had it, I could exorcise it and bury it for you.
Why take chances? Send it now.
-
Uncle.
Ya hear me?
UNCLE!!!
UNCLE UNCLE UNCLE UNCLE UNCLE UNCLE !!!!!
No more Frankies or wheaties. pleeeze.
Nuttin newer than the 1600's.
(come on Pine Tree) ain't got one, but this was legal tender at the time.
-
Next has gotta be a COPPER one.
-
From da wife's birthyear set:
No subtracting to figger out her age, though.
-
What's wrong with that reeded edge 1837?
I don't see any rub on the cheek and it's got all them colors all over it.
Oh and... swoon
-
Count, all I was pointing out was the inconsistencies of the grading services.
Obviously the frost breaks don't matter to me or I would not have bought the coin(s).
No offense meant. I just had to vent about the near OBSESSION with frost that
is in the market. That coin is PRETTY!
-
Oh NO! A ...break... in the frost on a lock of hair. FIE!
That relegates it to a pile of excrement.
WHO could have a coin in their collection with a ....shudder.... FROST BREAK?
At the risk of the ire of the board, I will state that this has gone just a BIT too far.

I had to change the direction cuz NOBODY'S gonna top that 1832 two bitser.
