One of the challenges in collecting USA-Philippine coins is that Gem Quality examples are rare to nonexistent for many dates. The 1920 (M) Fifty Centavos is a good example of this phenomenon. Although the 1920 (M) Fifty Centavos had a mintage of 420,000 there are no known certified examples in true Gem quality. The highest certified grade is MS64 and the entire NGC/PCGS Population in this grade is only thirteen coins.

The newest addition to my "USA-Philippines Top Pops" collection http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/WCM/CoinCustomSetView.aspx?s=11370 is a 1920 (M) Fifty Centavos graded NGC MS64. I purchased this coin in the December 30, 2012 Teletrade Auction (Auction Number 3407, Lot Number 3783) for the reserve price of $250.00 ($287.50 with Buyer's Premium).

A nice plus for this specimen is that it is NGC certified (NGC Pop 3/0) and is Pedigreed From the "Just Having Fun Collection".

A 1920 (M) Fifty Centavos in MS64 receives 450 Registry Points.

I have added this coin to the following Custom and Competitive Registry Sets:
