Should I buy.....

The question... Buy quantity or quality/rarity.

I thought about this today as I was looking through some Morgans. There were several common nice dollars to be had....but I thought... should I buy 1881-S dollars, nice and brillant or 1882-S PL dollars, which I can give out as gifts to the neices and nephews... or should I wait and buy low mintage or higher graded slabbed coins? There are so many nice ones to buy....what to do? Help
