I don't get it...

... but I do understand. I dont see the point in Everyman Registry Sets. I am an average guy, not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, yet I manage to have several top registry sets. There are so many varieties of sets to collect that will not bust the average guys budget... short sets, modern sets, annual proof sets, etc. Any collector can afford to put together an annual proof set in pretty much the top grade. True, some sets will have coins that are expensive to us, but there are others that are extremely affordable, especially if you are patient and shop carefully. I also pick my battles... some sets have a few thousand competitors, while others have much, much fewer. It is easier to get a higher ranked set in those categories. As to eBay and devious dealers, caveat emptor applies whereever you shop... being educated in the coins and sets you collect is the best defense against such.
