A beginner's thoughts on sifting through volumes of circulated coins.

A couple days ago I made the decision to start collecting Lincoln cents, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters, and various $1 coins. At the end of a surprisingly exciting first day the haul was impressive. But what was more profound were the lessons on from the task.

1. This will build your "eye" for different grades and tones.

2. Is cheap to learn.

3. Can be great fun.

Until this I played around with silver dollars, but and growing to appreciate the hobby more because of this.
