I was Offered An Apology The Other Day......Honest. I couldn't Believe It...

I've had to return a coin or two that had been labeled incorrectly, over the last 4 years.. wrong year, etc; but the last batch I got back from grading was something worth discussion. World Moderns are now being afforded "Special" Services, meaning Early Releases and special labels are available. I sent in 5 2012 Proof Silver Niue Dragons from the New Zealand Mint, requesting Early Releases, whcich prompted a call back from NGC asking me to verify the actual release date, which I could not provide, even though it was obvious these were very recent releases. They sold out in 2 days with a mintage of 2500 coins. I was offered special "Dragon" labels instead, which I accepted. I received straight brown label slabs and called NGC.

They reviewed the mistake and did apologise, asking me to send the coins back so they could make the correction. They even stated they would repay my shipping costs. I have not re-submitted the coins to them, nor will I. I'm pretty much done with these nice people. My membership expires mid Feb and PCGS is going to be my next grading company. Just had enough of their way of doing things in general. Especially as it concern guys like me who send in a dozen or so coins a month. We're treated like fodder because MCM has its nose in their back door and everyone knows it. Was nice while it was nice... It ain't so nice anymore so I'm Audi....
