Hmmm....Opportunity knocks - What to do?

To buy or not to buy - that is the question...

Earlier this month I talked about a subtle shift in my focus for 2012 - more towards classic coins and specifically Capped Bust Half Dimes.

Well, since then I have been buying lots of raw dimes and soon will send off probably a 20 coin submission to help my Roosevelt Clad Dimes grow through my own efforts. Honestly, I would like to have 50% of the coins become self made. I also bought my first raw Half Dime, a worn 1832 dime just to start getting my feet wet thinking about die marriages and re-marriages - greek to me at this point. Soon, I'll also be able to get a good refernce work for the series, but they are expensive.

Now for the dilemna - one of my dime guys offers me a 1966 business strike in MS 68 FT - now what do I do? I just said I wanted to calm down buying for this set, but this is a very low pop coin!! The arguement raged for about 30 seconds and I commited to layaway this coin! So, I really haven't shifted my complete thought patterns yet, but I'm working on it...

Interesting story for the day. I opened an OBW roll of 2008-P Roosies that I just bought from Ebay and immediately the edge of a coin stuck out - like it didn't belong. I was hoping for some kind of cool error and alas all I received was a complete junker...although it is cool to fantasize that this coin became hung up in the press 13 years earlier and finally dislodged into my 2008 roll! Just a cool little story about a great hobby!!!
