All collectors are winners in my mind

Hi everyone. Congratulations to all the registry and journal award winners this year. In the long run we as collectors are all winners. People collect many different things and for many different reasons. When I started collecting as a child it was for the fun of it. All these years later it is still fun but their are other reasons I collect now as well. I was honored this year to bring in 2 registry awards for my 1959-Date Circulation Issue and for my 1959-2008 Circulation Issue Lincoln Memorial Sets. Considering I was in 9th place at the beginning of the 2011 and about 14,000 points behind the leader I think I did well this year. I have a lot of people to thank for this. Sarah for being one of the first to talk with me about my sets and for the advice and knowledge. Ken, thanks for allowing me to purchase the awesome 83 Double Die Reverse Lincoln. Mike, for staying in touch and for being a veteran. Mark for the awesome coins that I have purchased from you for this set and for working with me. Bill, for allowing me the privilege of buying your set. RIP Sir. And finally all of you. Thank you. Some other thoughts before I go. If a set is obscured and it wins an award, all you have to do is go into the best of awards section and click on any set that won an award for that year will be shown. It will not show you pictures and descriptions but it will display the grade and certification numbers. I am a big fan of photos and descriptions and this year I will be working on mine. The collector who had held the top slot for so long has a collection that is about 97% PCGS coins. The only ones he has from NGC are for the 82 and 82D Large and Small date Lincoln Memorials which I do not believe PCGS has. I am not upset by the fact that his set is obscured since I do know what he has or that the majority of his sets are PCGS coins just makes me want to work harder. Just MHO. Anyways, Happy New Years to all. My goal will be to keep adding to these sets by filling in some blanks and upgrading some as well. I will leave you with a picture of my 1983 Double Die Reverse NGC MS68RD Lincoln Memorial that I purchased from another collector this year. I contacted him one day after looking at his collection and asked if he was interesting in selling this coin. Indeed he was and we worked out a deal. I think it was my nicest addition this year. Good luck this year in your collecting goals and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting
