My Handheld digital microscope

There is a lot of comments pertaining to digital microscopes so, I bought one. The experience is great.

I am new at collecting coins and learning that my years of museum work and history research work relates to this newest adventure that I am on.

I purchased a "Celestron" handheld digital microscope, model #44302-A, to refine my curating skills as it would apply to coin collecting. This machine, which I thought would be difficult to opperate, is fantastic.

The reviews that I have recently read pertaining to microscopes tools had been mixed in the opinion of quality of use. The Celestron model is easy to hold, on and off of it's stand. The photo capture is high quality, if you follow the basic rules of photographs: patience, attention to detail and experiment until a quality shot can be made.

The only down fall pertaining to the Celetron handheld is not with the machine but, rather, with it's computer disk loading, openning and operation. In other words, operation instructions are extremely basic and do not go into great detail.

There is a "training video" but, being an old U.S. Marine, I by-passed the video and started to figure things out myself. I was taking detailed images within minutes. Editing them in about ten minutes after nine minutes of figuring out how to work my "Adobe Photoshop" program. That delay is justification for another post.

I have attached an image of a 1921 Morgan that I used as a test sample of work. The coin is not "unique" just one of many of the common ones out in the world.

I hope to post some more images and comments as I learn more on how to use my microscope. Being a newbie at this, I would recommend this microscope for the beginner to the advance. Great machine with exceptional results.

Best wishes,

Jack
