Old U.S. Marine Starting to Get Serious in Collecting U.S. Coins

I am starting my new adventure after spending twenty years in U.S. Marine Corps; seven years of advance college studies and spending the past ten years as a self-published author & researcher on southeastern North Carolina (USA) history.

As with many coin collectors I have been intriqued by learning about our old coins since I was a young child. It has only been recently that I have had a chance to "re-invent" my life and start the adventure of collecting coins.

I have already learned, in a very short time, that a person new to this field of study need to be extremely cautious when it comes to deciding which coin to purchase. There are many aspects of a coin that MUST be examined before a buyer becomes an owner of a coin. Price; condition of coin; honesty of seller are only a few things to consider.

I have spent many years learning new trades and ideas. Different things to research and do before committing to a final decision. In time, with help of other collectors, I will do the same in this new adventure of discovering coins and their rewards.

Semper Fi !
