Get your Cash and Credit Cards Ready, the Pickens' are gonna cost ya! . .

2011 is going to be a Very Satisfying year for the silver eagle enthusiasts, with a complete diversity of Mintmarks and Planchet styles, both already issued by the Mint, and still in the works, and with 9 different coins- 2011 is also going to be the "Most Expensive", and 'murder' on someone doing catch-up later on!

The 2011 Line-up so far:

1. 2011 Bullion Silver Eagle(No Mintmark)

2. 2011-W Proof Silver Eagle

3. 2011-W Burnished MS Silver Eagle

4. 2011 (S)Struck at San Francisco" Label Bullion Coin,

and Of Course-the 5-Coin 25th Anniversary Silver Set as follows-

5. 2011-W American Silver Eagle Proof,

6. 2011-W American Silver Eagle Burnished Uncirculated,

7. 2011-S American Silver Eagle Bullion Coin with "S" Mint-mark

8. 2011-(W or P) American Silver Eagle Bullion Coin(No Mintmark), and finally the -

9. 2011-P American Silver Eagle "REVERSE PROOF".

The only coin missing that would round this list to an Even "10", is a "D" Mintmark or an ?Error? silver eagle. But then again- they haven?t All been issued yet!

All told, with silver prices jumping around from $31-$48/oz, the 9 coins averaged 60-Bucks per coin-Raw. The 2011 25th Anniv. Set Price is to be at $299.95. The Total Cost of ALL 9 coins(including the 5-25th Anniv) will be about $600 RAW.

Compare this to 2006, where the a Bullion Silver Eagle sold for around $12, the Proof and Burnished Silver Eagles sold for $27.95 and $19.95 respectively, and the 3-Pc 20th Anniversary Silver Set sold for Flat $100 - for a Grand Total of just over $150!

As a Collector of Silver Eagles with modest means, I'm anxious to have a complete set of Mint-State and Proof Silver Eagles without causing financial stress on the household. I don't want to be enticed or scammed with 'hype' into buying "Stuff" just because it?s certified with an NGC label.

Sometime during 2009, a substitute silver eagle was contrived to take the place of the Proof Silver Eagle that the Mint decide to not issue, by "Over-striking" a bullion silver eagle(below) gave it a more brilliant, Proof-Like appearance. I almost bought one until I read that Not only would NGC (and the others) not give these coins a slot in their Competitive Sets, They refused to certify these privately stamped coins entirely. At best, this collectors "odity" will have value to some, but not myself. Additionally, I'm surprised that the Government didn't go after the "Private Mint" for modifying or defacing US minted coins! Similarly last month, a famous TV coin dealer presented their NGC Certified 'Proprietary' labeled "2011(W)Struck at West Point Mint" bullion silver eagle(below), leading you to believe it was minted under similar circumstances to the "2011(S)Struck at San Francisco Mint" coin issued earlier this year. Later that week, these coins were also on sale by reputable dealers web-sites, and on eBay, the MS70's have since sold out at around $160 each. I asked NGC Customer Service about these coins, whether they would be allocating a Slot for these eagles in the NGC Competitive Sets Registry, NGC responded that they would not. Again, "Hype". I suppose there are those who want to collect the SAME coin with different labels, Nice if you have money to toss around!

Just as in 2006, this 2011 "Silver Anniversary Set" is being issued near the End of the Year, these 100,000 sets will no-doubt Sell-Out in 2-3 days).

So stay on top of the news(I have a couple of Links below). Once they're made available on October 27th at 12 Noon, the US Mint Website WILL probobly crash within 15 minutes, as it has with prior Hot Issues. So set several phones on Speed-dial to the Mint, have your Cash and Credit Cards ready, and Grab ?em before you?re priced out of the running!

Good Luck to All, ?Broke-Daddy?
