USPS or Shipper who messed up? That is the question!

Hello All,

Just another frustrating day(or days)!

Won some coins and now they are nowhere to be found. I spotted 2 coins that fit my Roosevelt collection and placed bids on them. As it turned out, I won both of them (1947P & 1956D) both gem coins and MS67FT grade.

Here is the sequence of events:

9/11

Auction 3135. Won coins YeeHaa!!!

9/13

Mailed payment for coins. There goes the checking account! balance!

9/19

Coins shipped. (according to their email notification) Priority Mail USPS. YeeHaa!

9/23

Bank screwed my account up and I got hit with a $45.00 OD charge for this check. Did not get it refunded. Still fighting it! NOT happy!!

9/28

Have not received coins. Bummer. Frustrating.

Called to check on shipment. I was told they shipped on the 19th.

They checked and confirmed they were shipped. They ran tracking number and found that it was shipped on the 19th.

I was provided the tracking info

I went to local Post Office to have it tracked. (Postmaster very helpful)

I was told that the label (priority) was printed on the 20th (not the 19th) So shipment actually left on the 20th. OK. Great!

Upon further investigation by Postmaster it was determined that the package was never scanned into the postal system as "accepted at local office" All we have is a label that has been printed. Meaningless!

I called the shipper and passed along the info I found out. I was told the package DID leave their business (told to me with a touch of attitude) so if it does not arrive in 2 weeks from now, let them know and they will file a claim. You then have to wait minimum of 30 days before anything else can be done. Then (sometime in the future) a credit will be issued for the purchase amount. I still have to pay shipping charges. They only refund purchase amount. Now I have to pay shipping on something I didn't even get! Not Happy!

The coins were not terribly expensive (Under $500.00), but now I have no coins and no money! Here is that frustrating thing again!

I am not sure whom to be pissed at. Shipper or USPS or both!

I just needed to vent!

Thanks for reading and if anyone else has been in a similar situation, let me know how it turned out for you. If it turned out bad don't tell me!!!! lol!
