Actually...I bought the label instead of the coin.
Hi everyone,
I went with buying a label when I was ready to pick up a 2011 SAE a few days ago. I had quite a few different labels to choose from and that was the motivating factor...after the grade.
The first 2 labels are the common BROWN and the ER BLUE. I guess these are the only 2 available for "casual" submitters, like myself, to NGC. Since I have these types of labels in my collection, it was a no brainer to skip on those. The other 2 are the RED label and I guess what is called the SILVER/LIBERTY label. Not to sure on the names and please correct me if someone knows the offical names for them. I believe those labels are only for the "big fish" submitters. Anyways I went with a RED label SAE...after chatting with MOONDOGGY a few weeks ago about his RED label...for $103 which was about $10 more then what the BROWN labels are going for on Ebay.
I read the news release from NGC that the SAEs struck at the San Francisco Mint will be labeled as coming from that Mint...but only if submitted in those huge Mint "monster boxes" I haven't read anything about them getting their own slot or not in the registry...yet!
Enjoy your coins and best of luck with the grades!
Jeffrey
