Fun Few Days
Still adding away
Good afternoon, everyone. The past few days have been fun and interesting. As with most, payday brought the purchasing of more coins. I alway lose a little sleep the morning of payday due to waking up early to spend my coin money before having to go to work. This time I added three Lincoln cents to my collection. Now I play the waiting game for the mail carrier to put them in my mail box.
At work yesterday, a customer made a cash deposit with a lot of coins. This is always exciting. It's sort of like a treasure hunt. In this case, the hunt was easy, as a nickel jumped right out at me. I saw that it was very gray in color and had an S above Monticello. It ended up being a 1943 in well circulated grade. Later in the day, I went out to my car to get a replacement nickel and when I asked my co worker to watch the swap, she asked me why I wanted that coin. I dropped it on the counter and she immediately know that it didn't "sound right". I explained to her that it was made with 40% silver, explained the mint mark, etc. It's always fun to pass along numismatic knowledge at work.
Well, I hope that all of you get some small round metal in your mailboxes this week. Happy collecting.
Marcus
