THE PAST OR THE PRESENT WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE????

I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT I SPARED YOU THIS TIME.Greetings Vibrant Community Members: After reading Beaw?s post I had to write a little about the subject. As some of you know I am not a fan of modern coins. Most are boring and in my opinion have little value. If the minting of coins of yester year is compared with the minting of today?s coins we would see that as in all modern manufacturing the human element has been removed as much as possible. Today we rely on computer aided drawing to create. We manufacture with computer directed machines. All the humans do is monitor the processes. In the past the craftsmen created the plans or models with his tools and hands. Made the machines run, adjusted them with his tools and hands. He checked his own work; he had talent and a touch developed by hands on experience. He had pride in his work he was a skilled craftsman. I see the skilled craftsman in the coins of the past in the details of these coins. A lot of them were works of art. Most of that is missing in modern coins. With the equipment that is in use today compared with what was used in the past every coin minted should be a MS 70 but its not, and why is that because we have lost the touch, the feel or what every you want to call it and it ain?t comimg back.
