This hobby is a lot of fun (and expensive)...

Greetings fellow collectors,

While I have always loved coins, only recently have I become a serious collector and joined the Collectors Society just last year. Man, I had no idea this hobby would be so addictive and so expensive. And with two kids in college my timing could not be any worse!

As a kid growing up in the 70's I would save all pre 1965 silver that crossed my path. Quite often opportunities would arise at family card games or while working at the local pool. But then I went off to college in 1981 and cashed in the coins for spending money.

While I love all coin types, I prefer coins from the 17 or 1800's. Something about the connection to the past that I really love. I'm also a sucker for colorful coins with great eye appeal. Most recently I have been working on two sets that I'll attempt to complete over the long haul - colorfully toned Buffalo Nickels and a US Colonial set.
