I?m honored and floored

Well, it?s a typical Saturday morning. I had plans for today but they got scuttled because of the threat of winter weather which afforded me the unusual option of staying in bed this morning. Granted sleeping until 7:30 is sleeping late for me since I?m usually up at 4:30. The house is still quiet and my eyes are barely open. I turn the coffee on as pass on my way to fire up the computer. Okay, coffee in hand, computer booted up, eyes still having trouble focusing, it?s time to get caught up on email and check things out.

BAMM! There is an email from a member I greatly respect and consider my friend congratulating me for my award. (You want to talk about my eyes popping wide open in a heart beat.) It only took a second to jump over to the Collectors Society and sure enough there is the 2010 Award Icon on my profile. Wow!! I know my Registry Sets are nowhere near the top of any list but I also never figured my journal entries were anything more than just my stories about my journey through this wonderful world of collecting coins. I?m hardly a recognized expert on anything in the realm of coins and for me this is a continuing journey for learning.

I would like to say ?CONGRATULATIONS!? to all the members who won awards. I also want to thank the judges who thought so highly of my journal entries. To all the members awards or not, thank you for all of the help, insite, and fun you have brought to the Collectors Society. You all make this hobby one life's most incredible experiences and joys.

In closing, I want to dedicate this award to my youngest son whose fascination with a Grizzly Bear on the back of the Alaska State Quarter two summers ago relit my passion for collecting. I fear without his new found interest, my collection would still be tucked neatly in the back of a closet.

Yes, I?m still pinching myself in a state of disbelief.
